This beautiful and delicately coloured form of fluorite is a soft pink-purple shade, sometimes exhibiting slight banding within. This stone is unique in that it is a variant type of fluorite from Mexico where about 1/5th of the calcium is replaced by a rare mineral element called yttrium, hence the name. It is rare and, unlike other types of fluorite, it forms in masses rather than in crystals - thus it is usually to be found as tumbled or polished specimens.
To me this stone has similar resonances to Pink Lazurine, but with in a natural (rather than man-made) form. It resonates especially well with the High Heart centre and promotes compassion and care for all sentient life forms. It may help us to be more forgiving and act with generosity and mercy - both towards others and for ourselves. The violet aspects carry the energies of transmutation that allow us to turn negative feelings and thoughts (such as jealosuy, anger, hatred or despair) into positive ones that will support our upward growth. This stone will also promote spiritual expansion, and recognising, reconciling and accepting our shadow side is all a part of this process!
