Aquamarine B: crystal (South Africa)

'B' grade terminated twinned crystal. Four side complete; two incomplete. The exterior of this crystal is quite clean, but traces of iron have bled beneath the surface from the red feldspar groundmass during the crystals growth. Although this seems to spoil its appearance, looking closely with a magnifying glass you see the iron traces have created golden-brown pools and streaks, which contain many tiny rainbows. The termination is predominantly nice and clean, if a little dulled. Colour is sea-green and the crystal does have some clarity in patches, visible when held to the light.
