Lepidolite is found in shades of pink and purple, often with a blue tinge, and more rarely in pure shades of azure blue. It may be held within quartz, and/or have tiny particles of shiny mica plates within it. The lavender / lilac coloured variety from Africa may be called "grape" lepidolite: this material is also called lilac lepidolite by Simmons.
All lithium-bearing minerals, of which lepidolite is one of the best examples, are excellent at balancing emotional states and dealing with extremes such as anger, aggression, depression, worry, anxiety or tension. Holding or carrying lepidolite is a great aid to relaxation and to achieving a measure of serenity and calm. We have also found that they can be very effective at purifying and detoxifying, especially in removing the after-effects of anaesthesia medications swiftly and safely from the body. Wearing or carrying one after an operation, or placing a grid of 6 or 8 around the bed will speed this and aid general recovery and healing. Don't forget to cleanse them regularly!
