Herkimer Diamond: crystal

This good sized Herkimer Diamond crystal has two visible terminations: one has layered indentations to its sides plus a large ‘key’ to one face showing where it was probably once part of a larger cluster; and one is slightly layered and pitted, showing where it became detached from its groundmass. The sides and other faces are reasonably clean, and there is a good general clarity to the crystal, along with a few nice golden deposits just below the surface.
