Herkimer Diamond: crystal

This good sized Herkimer Diamond crystal has two imperfect terminations: one is incomplete, with a large ‘key’ indentation showing where it was once part of a larger cluster; and one is deeply pitted, showing where it became detached from its groundmass. There are some other areas of pitting with surface deposits of black anthraxolite; a few smaller ‘key’ indentations; and some deep internal fractures with veiling. Nonetheless the crystal has some nice rainbows, a reasonable clarity, and a nice clear energy.
