Phantom Quartz
Phantom formations are recognised by having a phantom (or ghostly) outline or other layer within the main body of the crystal: these may be partial or (more rarely) full phantoms; and can be found in a range of colours including green, white, grey, black, red and brown. The layers formed when other mineral deposits fell on the surface of the crystal (or mixed with the feed material) whilst it was growing, and as such show the history of the crystal's growth.
The colour of the phantom indicates the nature of the mineral deposited: more about this can be found in the BY FORMATION - PHANTOM section of our shop.
Esoterially, chlorite phantoms are excellent healers; white phantoms connect with angelic energies; red phantoms are energising and grounding; black phantoms are spiritually grounding and uplifting. In all cases, the layers symbolically shwo that the crystal may be of use when dealing with buried or layered issues, or when accessing information that occupies a different level of reality, time or dimension. Just as the phantom shows the crystals history, so too can it show our past to us.
