Freeforms may be rounded or cut and polished with straight edges and faces. This tends to depend on the nature of the material - "massive" minerals are more likely to be rounded off, whereas terminated crystals, often because they have sustained damage in the extraction or growth process, tend to be "close-cut". All have a special inner beauty, often enhanced by a good cutter who is able to work with the energy inherent within the crystal. These pieces are nice in any room - the best placement will depend on the mineral.
