Amber is a mineral that has no crystalline form, and as such is often referred to as being amorphous. It is made of the fossilised resins of ancient trees that has bled out and then solidified over millions of years. A younger variety is called Copal, which has similar (but less refined) properties - see separate section. Be warned: some amber (and amber jewelry especially) is formed from smaller pieces that have been melted and reformed - some amber may not even be real amber, but a man-made resin. Basically, if the item seems too cheap, it may not be genuine!
I love the warmth and energy of amber! When I feel under the weather or need an energy "hug" I often wear an amber necklace. It is a very tactile mineral that seems to glow after being handled, reflecting out even more heat and energy as it interacts with the wearer / user. Amber resonates with the solar plexus and with the sacral chakras, and with the Hara centre of the Unified Field. However it can be used on any energy centre that is under-energised or feels "cold", where it will help warm and fill it with liquid sunshine. It can also be used on any area of the physical body where there is pain, stiffness or infection, where it can bring relief and restore balance. Because of the nature of the mineral, amber can help you connect with the ancient wisdom of the trees, and hence of the Earth: those that are drawn to pieces that hold plant-life or insects may find this to be especially true.
