Azurite is a copper carbonate mineral with a hardness of around 4. It is so named because of its deep azure blue colour. Azurite crystals can be found, where they form as long prismatic crystals, but most Azurite comes from massive deposits or botryoidal formations. Often Azurite occurs together with other copper bearing minerals, especially Malachite, and sometimes with chrysocolla, cuprite and / or turquoise (see Quantum Quattro Silica).
Azurite carries the Sapphire Blue Ray and helps ground this in all its shades and hues, including sky blue, royal blue and indigo. Accordingly it is excellent for supporting the throat and 3rd eye chakras, as well as the Soma and Universal centres of the Unified Field. Azurite may be used to enhance our understanding of the "time-line" and the manifestation of chosen lessons and life experiences; of karma and of the Akasha; and of the principles of "cause and effect". Carrying the deep blue Ray colours also means that Azurite carries the Ray of Truth and the energies of the Divine Feminine. Strong and True, this crystal will enhance our personal understanding of the true nature of Divinity and our connection to our Spiritual Selves and our Higher (Buddha) Nature.
