Mica

Mica is a soft lamellar mineral that often forms in layered plates or clusters of plates, sometimes in association with other minerals including quartz, feldspar and albite. The plates can be rectangular, hexagonal or triangular in shape and sometimes form in the shape of 6-pointed stars, "flowers", or more rarely as 4-sided rhomboid shapes. Their platy layers mean that larger single pieces can be split into many smaller ones, with careful and judicious use of a Stanley knife. Its colour depends on the trace minerals within, and it may be pink or lilac (sometimes described as lepidolite or muscovite mica); clear, yellow, white or bronze (sometimes described as bronze or biotite mica); or sometimes in a combination of 2 or more colours. When coloured green with chromium it is another form of muscovite mica, known as roscoeite - or in massive form with groundmass, known as fuchsite, which tends to be less regular in shape.
Bronze (Biotite) Mica is a highly energetic stone and we have found that it makes a great amplifier and broadcaster of energies if you sit another crystal on top of it, or stand one of these behind a small cluster or group of crystals. We use it in grids to help "gather" and amplify incoming energies. It is also very protective, and can help shield one from extremes of energy when "cosmic downloads" are occurring.
Pink Lepidolite (Muscovite) Mica contains Lithium and is very calming and centering. Once again it can be used to focus other energies, but is less amplifying and more stabilising than the bronze variety.
Yellow (Muscovite) Mica contains traces of iron, yet surprisingly is not very grounding, although it does have deep connections with the Earth. This mineral helps one stay focused and centred and assists attaining the state of Samadhi - oneness with All.
The window crystals of pink and yellow Mica can act as windows into the past or future, allowing one to seek answers or information from a position of personal power and strength.
Emerald (Roscoeite) Mica grounds the Emerald Ray of Balance and Potential. This would be useful at the heart chakra, where it might act to strengthen the Lotus of the Heart; but could also be placed beneath any other crystal on top of any chakra where extra intensity to get to the heart (or Truth) of something is required. Paired with pink (lepidolite) mica would add the element of love and compassion, broadening its spectrum of use considerably. A powerful combination!
