Prehnite is a glossy pale apple-green mineral that forms as rosette-shaped botryoidal crystals or (more usually) in massive deposits. It is a calcium and aluminium based mineral and may be found growing with calcite or zeolite deposits. Some prehnites have inclusions, the most common of which is epidot, which is an aluminium based mineral.
Prehnite is a stone of balance and compassion, and its soft green colouring can gently support the heart through times of change. It works subtly and calmly, meaning that its actions are not always immediately obvious. This stone also helps us connect to the more subtle and delicate elements of the natural world, including plants and flowers; fairy beings and devas. Those stones that contain epidot have the added advantage of being useful aids for intuitive communication, perhaps thus aiding connection and communion with those beings of the natural world mentioned before. Epidot also brings added power and strength to the prehnite, which may amplify and intensify its effects and may be of benefit if an element of protection is required.
