Charoite is found only in one location, near the Charo River in Siberia. It is a complex mineral of potassium, strontium, barium, calcium and sodium. It occurs with Tinaksite and Aegirine and forms massive fibrous aggregates. Colours range from pink to purple and are usually seen in feathery swirls and layers: creamy-yellow (Tinaksite) and black (Aegirine) inclusions are common, but the material most in demand is predominantly purple / pink, which is snapped up by the jewellery trade.
This is one of my favourite minerals! We love the colours and the energy, which is empowering and uplifting and opening and expanding, yet in a subtle and controlled way. This is an excellent choice for holding in meditation or journeying, or for making contact with the Higher Realms - especially those of the Masters of the Purple and Violet Rays, including St Germain and Lady Portia; Pallas Athena and the Mahachohan; Lady Nada and Lady Lotus. Stones that have greater proportions of black material within will assist in grounding your experiences more fully, and in pulling the Higher energies fully within the energy field. You may also use charoite to open and expand the brow and crown chakras and the Soma and Alpha centres of the Unified Body.
