This is a natural crystal of clear and milky quartz that has a deep blue-grey layer of fibrous minerals - probably riebeckite - running throughout one side of it: the surface on this side shows the minerals that comprise the phantom layering (which include silvery-grey and rust-red) very clearly - leading one to assume that the phantom deposits include other amphibole minerals (see also Amphibole Quartz). The termination is relatively clean; and this is a very good example of its type.
